My old wok has been wanting to retire for a long time; So I looked for another as a replacement. Normally I would never buy a flat-bottomed wok; However, there were so many positive Asian reviews that I gave it a try. And I'm glad that i did it Here's why: 1. I know you can't judge a book by its cover. However, what is worth mentioning is the impressive and excellent packaging of this product. Everything comes well protected and nicely presented. There is even a special screwdriver that will be sent to you for assembly.2. The lid of this wok is perfectly sealed. I have bought many pots and pans in my life but have never seen such a transparent lid. Even very expensive dishes can't keep up. Weight and handling are light. This wok is huge and I thought it was heavier. No, I can transport food without any problems.4. The coating is non-stick (well, I've only used this wok 2 times). The surface looks a bit rough, but does its job justice. I'll try to keep it that way.5. I'm even starting to like this clownish Bakelite pen which doesn't mix well with my other fairly functional cookware. This will remind me never to cook in the oven on high heat. Is it really a superior cooking appliance? Well, time will tell. So far I have to say: I'm thrilled.
