TL;DR These waterproof connectors look and feel VERY durable and mate easily with Ethernet cables from CAT6 CMX to CAT5. I installed the system PoE security cameras for a customer and I needed something to secure the connection from the CAT6 CMX cable from the NVR to the outdoor cameras. If you've ever worked with CMX CAT6 cable, you know that it's a lot thicker than standard CAT6 cable, let alone CAT5/CAT5e, so I specifically wanted a waterproof connector with large enough holes to accommodate their larger size record. I received these waterproof "DRY-CONNECT" connectors and they actually fit the CAT6 CMX cable. I then worried that I had overlooked the fact that the cameras I installed used a pigtail connector with a short CAT5 cable coming out the back and connected to the CAT6 CMX and I was concerned that from -Because that was dry -Boring holes were big enough to fit the CAT6 CMX, they would be too big to properly seal the much thinner CAT5. To my real surprise, that wasn't a problem at all and they formed a perfect seal around both of them. I found one that fits my needs but I got lucky and they made it. You can tell they are of high quality by seeing and working with them in person. I have no doubt that they will withstand sun, rain, snow and ice. Included are some pictures of the seal on both ends and a picture of the CAT5e cable next to the CAT6 CMX cable so you can see the difference. measure up. If I could go back I would definitely order them again. I will use this brand and model anytime I need a waterproof ethernet connector regardless of the cable size.
