I've been using facial hair removers since I was 12 so I've been using cream hair removers, bleach, waxes (strips, cold and hot) and dental floss for about 30 years - the only thing I haven't tried it, saw it in a facebook video and thought why not. It seemed a little intimidating when I got this, but after a few YouTube videos and reading the reviews here, I realized the thread came from the center spring first, but as one reviewer said, you just have to make sure the Thread is very tight. When I found out I use the powder that came with it and tried it on my chin, under my chin and in the mustache area, it worked great, no pain, just make sure you use the powder, it seemed to help. I recommend working one area at a time and then moving on, especially if there is a lot of hair. So if you need to change the thread, you can do this. I have a few more hair, nothing can be repaired with quick tweezers. As far as skin irritation is concerned, it is probably synonymous with a wax -like reddening. Great product so far, FYI this product is not wireless, cannot be charged, needs to be plugged in to work.
