Right out of the box the battery had three bars and I was only able to listen to FM radio for eight hours. Charged and 11am to 12pm FM radio. The battery charges in 3-4 hours. You can take out the battery and use any phone charger to power the device. This is what I do to extend battery life. The solar panel supplies 15V in bright sunlight and 50mA. A good six hours in the sun gives you a battery life of one and a half bars. What would 3-4 hours of FM radio be. Not bad in a pinch. The product is well made, unlike the $25 emergency radio I bought from another company. The interface, as mentioned, is a bit complex, but you can get used to it. UPDATE: 8 months later the radio is still working as good as the day I got it. It's on my desk, I turn it on to listen to the radio maybe once a week, I can't remember the last time I charged it. Very happy with it.
