My dog doesn't necessarily hate being in the car, but he hates being locked in. Our traditional dog harness left her little room to possibly roll over, but she couldn't get her head out the window. When I first saw this I liked the idea but I don't have rear seat handles (little flimsy hooks) and my dog is smaller so I was worried she would need so much sleep to lay down and see the window what it would be meaningless. Then I saw a reviewer post a photo of a rope tied between their headrests, and it was a game changer. It's a lot lower, which is great for them, and a lot safer than small hooks. We've been using it for a few weeks now and she LOVES to ride in the car. Now she can hesitantly dash from side to side, sticking her head out the window, and I don't end up with my escape master unbuckling his seat belt and sitting in the front with me. It's a win for everyone.
