I needed a fast, compact prime lens for taking stills and video with the Panasonic G85. It fits for way less money than I thought I would have to spend. The construction is very good; the lens barrel and mount are metal, the focus and aperture rings are well cushioned, and nothing feels cheap. I think the picture quality is good; There are definitely sharper lenses out there, but I'm not looking at pixels. The large aperture is good for low-light shots, and the 12 blades create a nice round (if sometimes oblong) bokeh. As others have pointed out, the focus travel is fairly short. The bezel doesn't click either, which I prefer but others might not like. I like that the lens is fully manual, but some might prefer the Panasonic 25mm f/1.7, which has autofocus and electronic controls. I love that I can toss it in my camera bag and take another option with me since it's so durable and small.
