I was skeptical about epilators
My mother (late 60's) is sure of these things. She used a similar item from her youth, on her mother's advice. Mom finally convinced me to try them and she was right. At first they made my skin very sensitive. I mean it's the fine sandpaper that scratches the skin. But she was right, after a while he stopped feeling uncomfortable and does an excellent job of removing really unwanted hair. Mom always knows!
