This lens only works in manual or M mode. Your camera does not recognize the attached lens and does not work in any of the automatic modes. If you don't know how to change the setting yourself, then this lens is not for you. I'm new to cameras so this is a little confusing for me. After playing around with the controls I was able to figure out how to get a clear photo. I'm sure it could be a great lens but I will be returning this lens as it doesn't fit my Nikon D5300 properly. It fits and rotates, but doesn't lock into place. I'm afraid that if I let go of the lens it will find a way to fall out. I'm not sure if this is just my model, but I definitely don't want to hang it around my neck and bounce it on the floor.
