My wife has an elderly, blind, shy cat who sometimes urinates in places that aren't her litter box. When we got a new sofa, I thought about how to protect it. I've been looking at these plastic sofa covers, like the ones in old people's living rooms, but they got bad reviews and didn't seem to do the job well or fit well. That's when I got the idea to just throw one of them. I had a 2 ply planned so decided to try this cheaper brand as it will be 2 ply anyway. Miraculously, I woke up to find the marks of an accident the very first night I wore them. What was surprising, however, was that the other brand we used leaked liquid into the terry layer and sometimes had light stains. Moisture/moisture underneath due to liquid seepage. So it didn't fully protect, so I figured I'd have to double it. But with THIS brand of urine left a puddle on the couch. I used paper towels to dry it and took it off to wash and was surprised to see that the second waterproof protector underneath was still virgin white. There was absolutely no leakage or leakage. There was no damage in the washing machine, but I don't dry them in the dryer even on low heat. I hang them up to dry. Too bad I didn't know about this brand before. I thought a more expensive brand would be better but it wasn't.
