These are very cheap shoes but at first glance they look convincing enough like more expensive brands. I often wear ethnics as casual wear and they look pretty much the same as the pair I wear most of the time. (I'm NOT a skateboarder; I'm in my 50's and have never tested these shoes to their limits. I've seen feedback from skateboarders that they aren't durable enough for this purpose.) Mine creaked a bit for a while. they appear to have "broke in". Of course it was annoying. And they have a slight plastic smell right out of the box. It looks like the shoe was pressed from a machine and not just any fabric. I can say it won't take that long. With daily use over the weekend I think 6 months? But for about $10? Whether you're just looking to change up your look a bit or you have an alternative for one-off occasions, these shoes are pretty good. I think I understand that cheap shoes like this are not made for the long haul and enjoy them for what they are. .
