Updated: Dazed and Confused (also very disappointed)

Didn't expect it to be in the SNOW in mid-August. Why the heck did it lose so much for a nearly $40 (large size) blanket? The instructions say machine washable, but even with a random load of just itself and light soap, this thing sheds more than a Siberian Husky. I wash it a second time hoping to get it all off before I throw it in the dryer. I saw reviews that he lost a little, but I didn't expect a blizzard. I know it's 100% cotton but I feel like I've lost half of my comforter and feel left out. I'll dry him off and sleep with him before deciding whether to come back if he's unwell. Some positives: Arrived well packaged, no stains or stains, no smell and felt soft and comfortable before washing - almost a little thick (no more waiting). Looks like the comforter would be perfect for a child sized bed with extra space. Update: After washing it 3 times and putting it in the tumble dryer I'm still losing heavily. I'm not sure how many washes this will last, but I have a feeling if I keep washing I'll run out of a blanket. The density of the blanket has greatly decreased, but the more often it is washed, the softer it becomes? I'm honestly very annoyed and confused.
