Long enough to keep from bending my knees while putting on shoes. Cartilage is gone from both of my knees, and they pop and snap bone to bone when I bend over. Other cheaper shoehorns seem to break easily, so far this heavy duty one seems to do the job without bending. I couldn't find a shoehorn long enough in the past, but this heavy quality unit works well. Time will tell if it holds up to heavy use, I liked the others when I first got them. There were a few negative reviews, which seemed to revolve around the claim that the steel was not strong enough. These even made me think twice about buying this product, but I went ahead anyway, and I find that the steel is quite strong enough if used in a normal fashion. Complaints about weakness were from situations of abuse or accident. I also ignore the comment which said it was too long. For those of us with mobility issues and need a long shoe horn this is a good choice. Most long shoe horns you buy at a surgical supply shop have a purely utilitarian look. This show horn is not only It not only long and servers well as a shoe horn but actually appears to be well make. I also at least I think has a very nice look shoe horn. So, far I'm very happy with it.

It's long enough to be used without bending down. It's one piece, nothing to break, no enamel, no artificial colors, just the natural metal without sharp edges.

I have a favorite pair of boots that long since lost the pull-on tabs, and I used to amuse my family wrestling them on until a coworker who has arthritis suggested one of these ultra long shoe horns. She needs one for mornings when bending and twisting are too painful, but I use mine to preserve my dignity and still wear my favorite boots. Very sturdy build and slips in and out of shoes easily.

The shoehorn is a little too long so I found it awkward to use. Also, when I let my grandson use it, it bent. For durability it should be made from a heavier gauge steel. For these reasons I was disappointed.

First time out with this product it bent as I was putting on a shoe. No unusual force used, just what you would normally use to slip on a shoe. I was surprised at how easily this bent, as it appeared to be pretty stout.

Bought for husband. Keeps it hanging by back door. Makes putting on shoes a breeze. Should hold up for years. I have even gotten to like it.

Granted it is a very long shoe horn and if you're like me and have trouble bending this will help you put your shoes on like a shoe horn should. Please note that this is made of metal and works fairly well, until you need to fit a foot into a shoe that is let's say, tight fitting. Then there is a possibility of the shoe horn bending (deforming) from the stress.

It arrived in a bent USPostal box with a twist in the middle. I straightened it out, but it does not regain its form and continues to twist into worse shape after re-use.I had a very similar one for several years. The older one got twisted once when I stepped on it. I shouldn't admit it on a public space, but this is perfect for a old arthritic fat man. I made my own holder to keep it upright and ready. I gave one to my in-laws and they use it also.
