Review on πŸ“Έ Enhanced VTech Kidizoom Selfie Camera for Digital Photography by Christopher Shah

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great camera for kids, with some weaknesses

UPDATE 8/2020: Changed my rating to 5 stars; It turned out to be quite an impressive gift! Still works and my son has learned to use some of the more advanced features (video, audio recording, camera effects, etc.) as he's spent more time with it. Haven't had any issues so far, other than the battery compartments coming loose fairly easily, but so far nothing has broken even with the rough use my kids have put in. I bought it for my son who just turned 4. He's obsessed with taking photos with my phone and looking at them, so it turned out to be a pretty good gift. Pros: - Good design / kid-friendly grips that can be held with both hands - Easy for kids to turn on and start shooting. - Good sized LCD for previewing and reviewing images - Decent camera quality (5MP front, 2MP for selfies) and flash works fairly well in low light environments - Comes with a 32GB SD card (not included) you can take many thousands of photos before shooting Card is full. We've already taken over 700 photos and I still have 29GB free on my 32GB SD card. Namely the timer/countdown mode and the flash mode (on/off/auto). I would have preferred the pre-installed "Kids" mode and the ability to unlock advanced button usage. The video quality is hardly bearable. It records grainy 640x480 videos at low frame rates. I'm not complaining about the price of this camera, but keep that in mind before you buy. Other: - Holds 4 AA batteries; The device has no battery inside. A lot of the reviews I see complain about this, but I actually think it's a good feature. I have rechargeable AAs on hand which means I can replace them immediately if those in the cell die, which means my young children (2 and 4 years old) don't cry when they want to play and keep filming. .- Once the screen freezes and turns off, but the camera turns on again. It wasn't more than once, but time will tell.
