Yes, you can use it indoors

In short: This swing works indoors, mounted on the ceiling. Desperate times call for desperate measures and after my child was stuck at home due to Covid and unable to go to the park for almost a year I had to find a way to get him safe access to the swings. The weather I live in is temperamental and there are many bad air quality days where we get stuck indoors, so I knew I wanted to train at home. I saw all the frame swings as necessary anchoring, which I couldn't do indoors. So I started looking into the logistics of attaching it to the ceiling. For maximum security I chose to install it on 2 separate ceiling joists. You can use Studfinder to find the exact location on these studs. I used 1 Home Depot eye hook (250lb capacity) to screw it into the ceiling joists. I used the pointed end, not the ones that need to be screwed to the other end (because I didn't want to climb into the attic to complete the process). Then attach the carabiners that come with the swing to the eye hooks. If you want to remove the swing and put it away, simply unclip the carabiners (leave the grommets on the ceiling). Not particularly elegant, but beggars don't have a choice and I'm more concerned about my child's happiness than the little walleye on my living room ceiling. I'll get a chain to make the swing longer so the baby doesn't sit so high off the ground. I am very impressed with the quality of the swing itself - it swings very smoothly and does not tilt forwards or backwards. My 10 month old is comfortable in it and I know it will be his size for the next year or two. If you try it, make sure you mount it on a separate parallel beam and check the bolt eyelet weight limit.
