I've had the LS40 since it was released, but the LS41 is almost 2 years old. I used to play COD with actual 5.1 or 7.1 AV/receiver settings, but after I started living with my wife I wasn't allowed to do late night sessions with the AV setting lol. So the LS40 and now the LS41 with optical surround sound really drew me to this product. It really works on all fronts. And I'm happy to report that it works on PS5. There is one caveat as the PS5 doesn't have an optical port. I leave the USB stick plugged into the PS5, but for the PS5 on my TV I use the TV's optical port and bitstream pass-through (not PCM). On my gaming monitor I have to use the HDMI audio extractor that a lot of people at Revain sell for $35. The sound quality is the best I've had from a gaming headset. I had PS4 Gold, tried Astros, Turtle Beaches, etc and got them all back. High frequencies are crisp and low frequencies are felt without being overwhelming. Not to mention the great surround sound reproduction and that has taken it to a new level above the rest. I rely heavily on sound in COD. With other headphones, I can hear footsteps to my right, but I don't know if they're from 2 or 5 o'clock. With Lucidsound, that's for sure. The comfort and the user interface are great. I can wear it on my head for hours without cramps/fatigue or too tight compression. There are separate volume controls for game and chat audio, a mute button (which I rarely use anymore since the PS5 has a button on the controller), and another button for different sound/EQ modes. The microphone works great. The volume of game audio and chat audio can be adjusted independently. Left earbud for game volume, right earbud for chat volume. I chat a lot in groups and everyone always uses me as a standard base for other group members to adapt to. Since it's an adjustable boom mic, I can bend it for a bit or adjust it so I don't breathe directly into it. There is also an indicator light at the end of the microphone that lights up when you've muted the sound. Reach is the only area where it's lacking. When I have to go to the kitchen to get something and the transmission has to go through 2 or 3 walls, it starts to lose connection. So I can't keep chatting or listen to the beeps that tell me the next game is about to start. But it's nice to have. Overall I'm very happy with them and continue to use them on my PS5. I will happily replace it with another LS41 if I sleep on it and break it like I did my LS40 lol.
