For the price you get a comprehensive range of emergency tools. I think this red version with rounded squares looks better and cuter than the new X-shaped version. Here are the tools you get: 1) Solar panel to charge your device. 2) Handle for charging the device. 3) Flashlight with 4 LEDs well placed in front. 4) Multiple outputs: - USB for charging phones and tablets - AUX in - Headphone in - DC in for device charging 5) AM/FM radio with rotary dial, with 7 weather bands 6) Retractable antenna to facilitate radio reception 7) Clock/Radio information display screen 8) Battery compartment accepts rechargeable battery or your own three AAA batteries. I've only used it to test all the functions and the purpose of having it is mainly for emergencies when something is better than nothing from the included batteries (or three AAA batteries), from the handle, or from the power cord (not included). the sky due to an (un)natural phenomenon, and there are no batteries around, you can use the crank. I love that the grip is still there even if some options don't work or aren't available. Just flip it over from the front and hold it for a few minutes or as long as you need to use the feature. However, if there is a zombie apocalypse, you probably don't want to use the hand crank as it's noisy, so you'll have to rely on solar power or batteries in that case. It also comes with a rechargeable set of AAA batteries (or you can use your own AAA batteries) which I believe get charged by the solar panel/handle. The fourth option is a power cord that plugs into the wall and is not included. — RADIO — The radio function works like any radio, turn the knob to the right and find a station. There is a retractable antenna on top in case you need to improve reception. It also comes with seven weather bars that specifically talk to the weather. - FLASHLIGHT - The flashlight has four LEDs and is bright enough to find objects in the dark. — COATING — I'm deducting a star for one thing: the finish. When you first get it you get a nice rubbery matte red finish on the outside. However, a friend of mine who has the same thing left it in the sun all the time and now the red part is getting sticky. I couldn't figure out how to undo this sticky feeling. Matte red plastic might be a better option. I'm happy with this purchase as I feel like I'll be better prepared when the next hurricane hits New York. Do you know what it was like to live without electricity for up to two weeks? At least next time I can charge my devices and have fun. highlighted.
