Definitely not for everyday use with batteries

I bought this radio to replace a very old portable radio that ran on C batteries. It was a great radio until it started getting pushed by the stations to drift. I used it almost exclusively in the bathroom (no outlet available) and only played about an hour a day on the way to work. I researched radios and decided that the Eton would not only fill this need but would also provide emergencies with all of its features at a very reasonable price. It was a wrong assumption. This radio runs on 3 AAA

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Little things

Worked as needed for Hurricane Irene

I bought this with overnight delivery before Hurricane Irene because all stores with this type of radios were sold out. It was delivered to my house just in time and I have benefited a lot from it since my electricity went out! Lots of negative reviews about the build quality of this radio. I don't think it looks cheap. It's certainly not as durable as professional radios. It's not waterproof or shockproof; If you drop it on the pavement from a height of 5 or 6 feet, you may damage at least one

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Incredibly convenient all-in-one for emergencies

For the price you get a comprehensive range of emergency tools. I think this red version with rounded squares looks better and cuter than the new X-shaped version. Here are the tools you get: 1) Solar panel to charge your device. 2) Handle for charging the device. 3) Flashlight with 4 LEDs well placed in front. 4) Multiple outputs: - USB for charging phones and tablets - AUX in - Headphone in - DC in for device charging 5) AM/FM radio with rotary dial, with 7 weather bands 6) Retractable…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • weak
