I bought this radio to replace a very old portable radio that ran on C batteries. It was a great radio until it started getting pushed by the stations to drift. I used it almost exclusively in the bathroom (no outlet available) and only played about an hour a day on the way to work. I researched radios and decided that the Eton would not only fill this need but would also provide emergencies with all of its features at a very reasonable price. It was a wrong assumption. This radio runs on 3 AAA batteries and in 25 days of use I used 6 batteries. I listened to the radio for about an hour a day. Speaking to Eton technical support, I learned that this was not a radio for everyday use; that it was designed as an emergency radio. They told me I can only expect 6-8 hours from a battery pack. I contacted Revain and although I no longer had the packaging they sent me a return label to ship the radio back to them. I was very impressed with their customer service. So if you're buying a radio for the same purpose as mine, choose a different radio if you don't want to keep changing batteries.
