After reviewing the specifications of the RS150, I was under the impression that it was a plug and play unit to add to my Raymarine branded network could become. Not this case. I need to purchase an NMEA2000 backbone and another adapter cable to connect to the HS5 backbone. This turns the $150 cost to compensate for the poor performance of Axiom's GPS into a $300 add-on. But Raymarine/FLIR do a lot of government work, so they're used to expensive built-in add-ons to get the gear working properly. I'm sure it will be great when everything works harmoniously, but the extra pain in the wallet becomes obsolete. Mostly my fault for not doing enough research.
