Calm and welcoming Betta Aquarium suitable for one fish

The GloFish Betta Shadowbox Aquarium Kit is a good starter kit for your new Betta. Although the tank is listed as a GloFish Betta aquarium, you don't actually need to buy an actual neon GloFish Betta, but the tinted sides and black light will make it look really cool in this aquarium. My child's standard rooster did well in the aquarium, despite being slightly smaller than the Eclipse tank it was previously in. A square tank loses some swimming space for the fish because the filtration system is hidden behind a black piece of plastic at the back of the tank. Tank. While it looks more aesthetically pleasing because you don't see any filter hoses, it shaves off a few square inches for your fish to swim in. The tank is glass and there were no scratches or leaks on the aquarium we received. The filtration system is very quiet and the water flow can be adjusted to either flow slowly or flow out with a simple twist of the knob. The aerator can be easily detached for maintenance or adjustment - the flow adjustment knob is on the pump itself and you can experiment with the flow before putting the pump back in. The filter system also uses a filter sponge and a replaceable carbon filter. Filters are accessible and easy to replace. While I like the hidden aspect of the entire filtration system, I will say that cleaning the entire system from the back is more difficult. You'll need a siphon tube to remove food debris and it would be helpful to have a water bottle cleaning sponge (essentially a sponge on a stick) to remove any algae that may have accumulated in the back. The tank comes with almost everything you need to set it up, except for your live animals and decorations. We made it very easy with some gravel, plants and marimos. If you want to set up leaf hammocks, the sides of the tank are smooth and suction works well on them. Overall, as a starter tank, it's attractive and easy to set up. Although I would recommend buying a larger tank if you plan on keeping more fish in it, it is suitable for a single Betta and is an attractive tank to keep on a shelf or tabletop.
