Adapter worked fine 3 times and then died. Traces of carbon on the connector pins indicate arcing due to a poor fit between my phone and the adapter. Since I have a new iPhone 8 and there is no moisture on my side, this suggests a manufacturing defect. I used the product exactly as intended. It's a shame to spend money on it.
