Review on πŸ’» Sabrent USB-KCPD 2-Port Type-C KVM Switch with 60W Power Delivery Option by Jason Peterson

An interesting and functional hack of two USB-C adapters

Very interesting product. Instead of building a traditional KVM, Sabrent apparently took two standard USB-C dongles (or hubs, switches, or adapters) and bundled them together. Each dongle has: 1 - USB-C2 input - optional USB-C PD3 connector - HDMI4 output - two USB-A outputs with HDMI and USB-C connectors connected to both dongles. And a button to switch between them. It lacks the real benefits of USB-C video, like HDR if both the computer and monitor support it, or passing the USB-C signal to the monitor's built-in USB hub. And it lacks the real benefits of KVM, like keyboard controls or a virtual monitor on the computer after you disconnect. However, it works fine (for keyboard, mouse, and video switching) on the computers I've tested. and perfect for work or general home use. (but not for gaming or creative purposes where HDR or higher video refresh rates are required).
