Review on πŸ—ΊοΈ Refurbished Garmin 010-N2036-06 Drive 52 Automotive GPS with US/Canada Maps by Joshua Romero

A good buy despite some intuitive GUI issues.

When I opened the box, it contained a GPS, a power cord (quite long), a USB cable (which is too short), and a manual. Since I'm one of those people who basically takes the manual and throws it out the window, I mounted it on a weighted mount, plugged it in, and it already had enough satellites to work with. I made the basic settings, determined the location and set off. Initially it only showed the name of the street I was on, but as I turned around street numbers started to appear. I noticed that I included a little interesting thing: I turned on the "tracking" feature so you can see where you've been. .Once I reached my first destination I entered my home address and then wanted to add Wal-Mart to the trip and it took a while as I don't know how to navigate the GUI yet. A multi-stop trip, it was pretty much a done deal and I ended up at Wal-Mart and then literally on my doorstep. What I really like about this GPS is its overall size. It's very compact, thin, light weight and easily mounted on my device for my dashboard. As you will see from the photos it fits nicely on a 7 inch GPS stand. The main cons of this GPS are the outdated USB port, the GUI is clunky for the average user who doesn't read manuals or is frustrated. simply if you don't use the arrows on the left side of the screen or don't have a very firm finger you can have problems with some menus and map manipulation. Overall I really like this GPS, it does the job, it's easy to perform basic functions and the fact that it's referral is even better as it doesn't turn into scrap metal. Personally worth the money! Update: Although I like GPS, I had to do a factory reset to fix some routing issues. Unfortunately, routing issues still exist as major roads are preferred over everything else and you have to manually bypass the routing by adding your own routing.
