Although it looks like a well made adapter from the outside, when I tried to use it with both my Mercedes iCarsoft reader and the Bosch universal reader, all that was it could provide basic engine diagnostics - just like I can get them from the ODBII port under the dash. This does not facilitate access to vehicle subsystems. Since the seller's replies said it would work without wiring, I was surprised mine didn't work. I opened it up and found that instead of 38 wires mapped to 16 connectors, there were ONLY THREE WIRES INSIDE. That's all. Three. Pin 1 (of 38) corresponds to pins 4 and 5 on the OBDII page. Pin 4 corresponds to connector 7. Pin 3 corresponds to connector 16. Don't waste your money on this. Buy a matching connector that connects ALL 16 OBDII connectors to the corresponding pins on the Mercedes connector.
