I used this for my Gopro Hero3 black. It runs much faster when launching the camera, reading from USB, and taking photos and videos. If you shoot a lot, 32GB is cheaper and safer in the long run. I never ran out of the room and didn't miss a thing. There is a difference for shooting in 4K, Hero 3 is not the best option for 4K but it will work. Stromboli is just a mini card USB adapter.
