These are ribbed. Grade 3 out of 4 answers to my question "Ribbed or plain?" were wrong, at least for the product I received on July 12, 2021. Therefore, they cause me a little irritation and dents. But way better than the Roylan 58814. They're thicker (at least twice as thick), no raw seams that unravel instantly (folded in half so the seam is just down), softer, better quality, and available in black. So for me it costs twice as much. Despite being the same size they still fit my hand quite snugly, they are actually snugger than the 58814 in the small size as they don't stretch straight away. The spiky part of my thumb is slightly baggy on me, looser than the 55814 and has a glove-like seam, but feels good under the tire. They actually look like they'll hold up to the wash, although I haven't yet. 58814 looks like it's meant for one-time use. A little pricey but my tire is more comfortable so it's worth it. Too bad I skipped the 58814 at first as it would have cost me less in the long run and I would probably end up throwing it away. The descriptions aren't very clear, so I didn't realize they were of much higher quality.
