Review on Enhance Your Turntable and Home Theater System with the iFi Micro iPhono3 Black Label Phonostage/Preamplifier - Compatible with MM and MC Cartridges by Scott Maddocks

I was looking for a phono stage to replace my mani that wouldn't cost the earth but still had the performance and options to match the few voice coils I own. The DIP switches are a bit fiddly and unintuitive, and I'd recommend using an ifi calculator to set up cartridge loading, as the leaflet that came with it wasn't too helpful. Once you get that figured out, the improvement in sound quality is significant compared to an entry level like Mani. The picture is much more accurate and there is also much more detail, but this is not a warm sounding phono stage so careful pickup selection can achieve the best results. Luckily the Benz Micro Zebra is a great fit, its understated realism well balanced by the ifi's clarity and punch. Highly recommend, but stay away if "vinyl warmth" is your top priority.
