So, I purchased this not to use on my walls, but to change the look of an old bookcase I had in my living room. While I like the bookcase the original wood color just clashed with the rest of our living room furniture and it has been bugging me for years. I had thought about painting it, but the idea of sanding it and painting was just too overwhelming for me. I decided to try out this wallpaper instead and only spray painted the drawer knobs.This is the first time I've ever attempted a project like this, and I think it came out ok. From a distance, you can't really see my mistakes, but there are plenty for sure! It was way more effort than I originally anticipated, and it took me about 8 hours total to do the bookcase by myself. It's definitely much easier to apply on flat, smooth surfaces and I struggled the most going around curves.I highly recommend getting a separate wallpaper kit that has a felt-tipped "putty knife" as this really helps to smooth out the wallpaper without damaging it. I tried using a regular putty knife but this caused a few small tears.By the way, my husband didn't know it was wallpaper and thought I had painted it! So that's a good sign. I really was hoping it didn't look wallpapered. Also, I bought the 32.8 ft roll but it wasn't enough believe it or not. I had to pick up a second roll to finish the job, but only needed about half of that.
