Or if they are *technically* some kind of silicone then they are not soft as if you think silicone but hard as if you think because of Plastic, that's what I was hoping for, as I need shoelace closures that don't rattle when my shorts are put in the dryer. Unfortunately, they are not suitable for this. I'm not saying this is a bad product but I will say it's not what I expected.
