Enough for my large condenser microphone with shock mount. I wish it could be set a little higher - the photo shows it at its maximum height - which is certainly sufficient for seated desk use and that is its stated purpose. I just wanted something worth recording in my tiny studio that doesn't take up floor space. But I can build some kind of platform, so it's okay. One note - I almost returned it for not noticing there was an adapter screwed into the included mic clip (at least it was for me - it was a repack). A standard sized mic clip won't fit on a stand without this adapter - you have to unscrew the adapter from the clip (which wasn't easy for me so I wasn't even sure if it would come loose at first) and then attach the adapter to the Stand before you can use the standard clamp (I think the included clamp will be after you remove the adapter :) Also, one of the legs doesn't snap into place like the others, which isn't a big deal for functionality but maybe that's the one Reason why this one was sent back the first time? All in all a good article that I will use for a long time.
