I only use the front of this part. I am modifying my RV trailer to separate black and gray water valves to create a single black water outlet dump valve. To do this I had to cut a 1-1/2" gray water valve, attach a full 90 degree elbow and run 1-1/2" ABS tubing to the front 1-1/2" section of this valve . which I installed on my existing 3" valve. Just four screws and a gasket. I now have a convenient black water initial flush followed by a gray water flush on one hose outlet. No more changing hoses from black to gray valves.
