Used this to shoot a video for commercial use at an online subscription service using an iPad and an external condenser mic. The light ring itself works great. The only downside is that there are no instructions at all on how to assemble the ring on the stand, so you can get confused. The stand is threaded at the top but you don't screw anything in, you use a piece that only attaches with a side screw. It's not obvious - you only get there through the elimination method. It's a tall, thin one on a stand, but sturdy enough if you're not fiddling with it. It has plenty of brightness options (we used it at almost its lowest setting to avoid blur, but we did get a lot of close-up shots) and even has a remote control, which we haven't had a chance to test yet. So far so good except for these assembly instructions.
