I ordered a small (4-6) for my 5 year old daughter who weighs about 35 pounds. and fits any clothing size from 4 to 6 depending on the brand, and it fits perfectly, with the straps adjusted approximately for their snug fit. The straps still fell off, but after volunteering for her dance recital where all the girls wore them from different brands, it turned out to be a fairly common problem. While I liked the adjustable shoulder straps, the metal hardware irritated her shoulders. The fabric is nice and thick and looks like it will last a long time.
