Probably the best monitor mount for under $50

I set this up and have been using it for a few days. Mounted with several steel reinforcement plates on an Ikea hollow wood table. Hold a 32 inch LG monitor that weighs around 10 pounds. The monitor has 120mm mounting holes so an adapter plate is required which I already had for the monitor stand this mount is replacing. So far so good, it works a little better than I expected. . The movement is smooth. The monitor is easy to pull closer, slide, raise and lower. I had no trouble adjusting the tension. has a long reach and can slide out quite high so I can use it standing up, along with a small stand up laptop desk adapter that holds my keyboard and mouse. As an added benefit, this opened up some storage space behind my monitor. currently has a box of tissues and a tray of pens and small gadgets. A USB hub is simply a USB extension cable that fits into the base of the arm and is held in place. Not a bad feature really - if the cable ever breaks, you can simply swap it out with another USB extension cable. I have a "mini hub" that looks like a flash drive with 3 USB ports attached that powers my keyboard and mouse. My main complaints about it losing a star are the following: with the number of characters and letters defined in the index at the beginning. It would be better if there was a bigger and more detailed manual with correct english spelling explaining every step. There are a number of additional bolts and hardware that only need to be used to install the hub (using the hole in the chart). I had to check several times to make sure I hadn't forgotten any details. The rear cable management plate is loose and can be easily removed. I've pushed the monitor cable with my feet and it's fallen to the ground a few times, I'll probably need to use tape to hold it better. Otherwise, cable management is pretty good. All in all, the North Bayou mount is a good choice if this is your first monitor mount and you don't want to splurge on something premium just yet.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • It bothers me
