So I have an AW3418DW that weighs 16.10 pounds, which is down from the 19.8 pounds they say it can handle. The moment the monitor falls a little less than halfway, the bracket will fall slowly at first, and then rapidly when it reaches halfway. If I were to do this test at home my cat could easily jump onto the table which would cause her to tremble a little and the monitor to slowly lower and then immediately fall off. This is a well made solid block. My desk has a 1" edge and this is the only desk mount that has worked. The clamp is the best I've seen in terms of stability, it has foam padding and nice heavy proportions. I would have liked to use a bar instead of a handle to tighten it in tight spaces (e.g. a 1" wide bar next to wood panels), but I was able to tension it by sliding it halfway across the bar and tightening that far did as I could, and then pushed it back onto the table. The arm itself is well made and works well, but the attached "Vesa" mount is custom sized. The larger of the two dimensions on the plastic mounting plate is offset 1-2mm from any monitor I've tried attaching it to and the inner mounting holes are offset 4-5mm from the monitors you might be thinking. I set this up and have been using it for a few days. Mounted with several steel reinforcement plates on an Ikea hollow wood table. Hold a 32 inch LG monitor that weighs around 10 pounds.
