Even with music playing, you can clearly hear announcements in the metro. It was amusing to be able to hear the musicians extremely clearly while there was no music playing in the headphones and noise reduction was activated. It's interesting how quickly we become accustomed to noises, yet when you take off your headphones or put on the noise canceling feature, you immediately want to turn it back on.
