Good for swimming and allows pup to swim freely. The stitching on the handle and the attachment of the D-ring didn't quite convince me as the D-ring completely detached on the first use and my dog got free. It's also not a puller, so there was little to no pressure to pull the seams apart. It wouldn't be a problem if he came back when called. However, he is a young Pitsky and very stubborn! He almost didn't pull to break the seams, but realizing that he was free, he flew away in a flash and returned only because he could not scale the sand hill. You could say I got a little angry when this became an issue. I use this vest with a 30ft soap line. When he decided to jump in the water to swim, he held him well above the water and let him swim freely, but when we used the handle to help him get back on the boat, the handle also started to loosen . The fit of the vest and main structure was functional. But extra features like a D-ring and a handle proved useless.
