Fits perfectly in our 80lb 13 year old lab

When I bought these size 8 boots I was skeptical that they would work and had three things in mind: would the boots be strong enough for our 80 pound lab, would they fit his foot and would he you accept? . I was pleasantly surprised on all three counts. I tried them on the day after the boots arrived. No wonder he didn't like her. He pulled on one of the boots until it fell off as I turned my head. I put it back on and tightened it up and it held up better. I had some issues the first few days where the shoes slipped off my feet when running. I was afraid to overtighten the velcro for fear of damaging it. But I started analyzing his legs a little more and in my opinion there is no problem tightening the velcro because unlike a human leg tightening it doesn't cut off blood flow and probably doesn't cause pain: that part of the dog's paw is nothing but a bundle. of tough tendons of bone flesh and nails. There is no evidence that over-tightening the seat belts bothers him in any way. After I tightened the boots they were fine. In fact, if you don't tighten them enough, they can sometimes slip sideways a bit, which must be hard on his leg, so don't be afraid to tighten them. Put them on and you'll feel where the longest nail meets the boots and you should be fine. Unless your dog somehow indicates that the boots are causing him pain, you should be able to just pull the boots on firmly. loves, our dog associates boots with fun. Since he associates putting on boots with things he enjoys, he no longer tries to put on boots. I don't know if he likes them but he doesn't resist in any way when I put them on and there is absolutely no sign of pain or discomfort. We mostly walk our dog on gravel or slightly rocky trails, but these dog boots hold up well. So the skepticism I had when buying these boots turned out to be unfounded: the boots are solid, fit well and he adapted to them. For me they are more than worth their price.
