These socks fit your foot, not your boot! I have ten shoes but the medium wears socks. They are warm but thin. I would wear them with dress shoes, tennis shoes, sneakers, etc. For the boots you need a second pair (I have them now with these as my main socks and a pair of small wool socks over them and it's the perfect combo) of socks to really stay warm in boots when you get cold. As long as the landscaping is in the 30-50 degree range, they are warm. Not to be confused with the ultimate warrior alpaca boot socks, they are much thicker and warmer than these and better used for boot socks.
