The cable serves its purpose. I bought it to power my Sony Z280 camera. The camera has a unique power connector for external AC power. I am using an IDX power adapter instead of a Sony plastic charger/power adapter. So I cut this cable to use the end of the Sony connector that connects to the 4-pin XLR power cable. Works perfectly. It's just that Sony's power connector had a 90 degree end instead of a straight plug.
