This card reader is suitable for all new Macbooks/PCs that only have a type-C port. It transmits at USB 3.0 speeds, but note that it also varies depending on Card size may vary. It's a good short length, but note that the card doesn't extend too far into the device. I'd rather have it at least halfway as I don't like too many devices sticking out because it's easier for them to get damaged or fall out over time. It also works with my Note 8 and if you have an adapter it will work with any micro USB port. For iPhone you need an app but I don't know which one actually works. I tried to translate from my phone and it takes a long time even with a powerful card. It just depends on the capabilities of the phone. It generates some heat with prolonged use, so be careful. I think the best you can do is just transfer it overnight if you have a large card, but it transfers decently depending on the slot and can free up space on your phone if needed. Overall, I think this card reader is great for connecting to new laptops and new Android phones that use TYPE-c connectors.
