The best choice for framing

An ideal tape measure for laying out a summer kitchen 12x16 meters on a flat surface. I used 6 different tape measures (triangle 3:4:5 diagonal, so 20ft diagonal) when laying out the corners (if you get 4 corners in a square). So I had these various tape measures from new to new, each measuring one side or diagonal of 12 foot by 16 foot foundation corners. I've come to a final conclusion on which size I like best in this project. I've been renovating my home here for 30 years. The Stanley Big Max 25' Band is pretty good. It's my choice. I love that it's strong and durable, the chunky size is easy to read, and I can go over 8 feet without collapsing like wet noodles when taking lots of control measurements (room width, distance from slope to deck). It has a good tip for accurate measurements. Its main disadvantages are that the tape ends at 25 feet and sometimes at longer distances. I also wish it would glow in the dark. It would be really cool if they did metric or biversion. Metric is good for those who have trouble with fractions, e.g. B. when you're fitting corners to a 12-by-16-foot construction square and trying to remember if the other diagonal was 21-3/8 or 21-3/4. Next time I need a 25 foot tape measure I would use this one again.

Pros
  • Full tape protection of the blade and the addition of BladeArmor on the hook extend tape life from abrasion and heavy use.
Cons
  • I don't remember
