Review on Jabra Speak 410 Corded Speakerphone: Portable USB Speaker with Excellent Sound Quality for Easy Softphone Meetings Anywhere by Kenneth Wood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Failed D&I test

Not a very well thought out hardware and firmware design from a D&I perspective. For any visually impaired user in the office, there are a few issues that would be easy to solve for Jabra to qualify for the original design.1. There are no tactile sensations from the buttons. It will be welcome for all users.2. The ticking mute/unmute sound is the same as the mute/unmute sound.3. The mute indicator is so dim that even a person with good eyesight cannot see it in bright light.4. Since it is perfectly round, there is no sense of direction. So if you try to quickly press a key during a presentation, users really need to pay attention. Otherwise, the device is reasonably acceptable for its price. It does an excellent job of eliminating computer noise coming back through the microphone, but if one person speaks at the same time, their voice will be severely interrupted for other listeners in the meeting. The USB cable is short and not of very good quality, but it winds well and the USB connector snaps in well. If in actual use the buttons, lights and sounds were given as much attention as storage I would give it 5 stars. So if you, as a buyer, value a diverse and inclusive workforce in your office, consider another provider.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not everything fits
