OxGord Pure Wild-Alaskan Salmon Oil - 32oz vs. Zesty's Salmon Oil - 32oz (also pure Alaskan salmon)

I purchased Zesty Wild Salmon Oil for two large dogs a little over a year ago and finally uses the last drop, even after daily religious use. Since OxGord's Wild Salmon Oil is $5 cheaper than Zesty's, I decided to give OxGord a try. Both products smell like fresh salmon oil and whet the appetite for salmon, but are not intended for human consumption. Here are the differences I noticed. Zesty's recommends 4 pumps (1 pump per 25 pound dog) for a 100 pound dog. Each pump is approximately 1 teaspoon, so 4 teaspoons per 100 lb dog. OxGord recommends 4 tablespoons for a 100 lb dog. (so 12 teaspoons / 100 lbs dog) Zesty's wants the oil to be refrigerated after opening (yes the oil never went rancid when refrigerated) OxGord does not mention refrigeration. Zesty's Oil is thicker with a "moisture" content of 0.1%. 0.5% "moisture contentโ€ (as if it had been "diluted with waterโ€) NOTE. When most of the zesty oil is gone, the remaining oil tends to get very thick in the fridge. Simply pour some water at the bottom of the bottle for 15-30 seconds to relieve chills and shake a few times to pump out the oil with ease. The Zesty canister is shorter but stronger, better balanced, has a smaller pump and feeding tube. and thinner, easier to tip but takes up less space, has a larger pump and wider feed tube. The OxGord pump would not work no matter how many times I tried to pump out the oil. When I took the pump out, the oil didn't even go halfway through the spring portion of the feed tube. I drained it and tried pumping again, same result. I had to get an empty Zesty bottle out of the bin, clean it and fill it up with OxGord oil. Bottom Line: Dogs love OxGord as much as Zesty's. For health-conscious individuals, OxGord says their "salmon oil is purified through molecular distillation of all toxins and exceeds the standards set by California Proposition 65." OxGord can work just as well as Zesty and is cheaper per ounce to buy, but it costs more in the long run because you have to use 3x more oil than Zesty. My OxGord pump was not working. Once the OxGord oil runs out I will be buying Zesty's again.
