I needed new cables with the latest version 3.0 for the USB extension unit. My computers are on a mobile stand so they are easily accessible by rolling them out from under the desk. The problem is that I need odd cable lengths to make the distance from the PC to the desktop. Murphy's Law stated that 6 feet is too short, 10 feet is too long, and non-existent 8-foot cables are just right. What kind of cables can I make, I have, and about 10ft of loops are allocated on the way to the target to use some length. I HATE using extensions due to impure signals and union junk leaks. This cable was only short so I added a tried and tested 3" USB extension cable. The joint is wrapped with foil tape (aluminum with strong adhesive) for extra protection. The expansion box is 7 USB for data transfer and 4 USB for power and I'm using 6 and 3 respectively. Everything seems good so far. My biggest problem with recording noise was isolation, and that was the router - temporarily removing the antennas silenced my studio while a background hiss whispered. These cables are very durable on the outside and the black and white color coding tells me they are 3.0. Now we have to figure out how to get 8 feet away from them.
