I had to replace this part in two of our toilets because the base that the small white plug screws onto broke. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the purge valve itself. I wish Mansfield would have made the stem thicker so it wouldn't break as easily, but as I said, this has nothing to do with the valve itself. Anyway, this part seems reasonable for the price and was easy enough to install. The only problem I had was the screw loosening from the bottom of the old valve due to soda water on the threads. After playing around with various tongs and such, I found that the best way to get the job done is to wear rubber kitchen gloves so you can grip the white rack inside the tank with one hand and the large screw well can grab outside. Tank with another. Once the old screw is loosened, the old pressure flush valve can be easily removed and a new one installed.
