In the photo I used 1 layer. This mascara looks great, it's not thick or clumpy when it comes out of the tube. I am deducting a few stars because it has an odd smell from day one. I avoided it because of the smell and used a different mascara. Side and twist the brush as you apply. Separates the lashes and coats them evenly. You also never want to pump your wand into a tube. This forces air in. Your mascara will dry/ruin faster. Stir, don't pump, so it lasts longer.
