Anti-glare is important for people with CVI

Up to a point, the iPad has been a great tool for children with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). When a visually impaired teacher presented the first iPad/tablet treatment session in 2009, I was stunned, as was one of the students she and I shared in our cases. Shortly thereafter, I bought my first iPad and gave it to another student who was diagnosed with CVI. He started laughing immediately when I launched this amazing fireworks app. His laugh was contagious like most kids, but during the second session I realized what kind of humor this smart little guy was enjoying. His face was overlaid by the fireworks hype and other app visuals due to the glossy finish of the iPad screen! If your child is diagnosed with CVI, this is an important tool you need to help that person get the most out of apps like TouchChat or other communication programs. If you prefer a shiny look, that's cool too. I think "George" just felt a little more famous when he saw a great cause and effect app working behind his very handsome face.
