I've had Microsoft split keyboards since the day they were first introduced. I've always been very happy with them. So when, years later, my 4000 keyboard started typing extra keys, it was time to buy the next generation. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how many changes they made to the keyboard layout. At first glance you don't really notice it. On the F keys, F6 moved from right to left. There is very little F-key separation on the right. We use F9, F10 and F11 very often for debugging. I kept pressing the wrong F key. Another thing you don't notice is that PrtScr, Pause, and Num move as well. Again why? After a few months of use, I finally gave up on the constantly missing buttons due to the weird layout. Unfortunately, I've reverted to the standard keyboard. Not happy, but at least I can press the keys without much effort. It's just such a disappointment.
