Review on πŸ”¨ Woodcarving Straight Forged Woodworking Hammer by Aaron Parish

Revainrating 2 out of 5

You get what you pay for.

I wanted something fast and cheap. And by those criteria, it's a success. Not by other standards. It came across as so bland that I wonder if it wasn't made more as a prop than a tool, as if it was never meant to be an advantage. About twenty minutes with the sharpener got the blade but I don't expect it to hold up even with light use. There's absolutely no chance it's actually forged steel, almost certainly cast. Otherwise it fits its grip well, isn't too terribly balanced, and arrived on time. (Contrary to what some reviewers think, it's not uncommon for non-standard instruments to arrive separate from their heads, or with no handles at all.) But once I've smashed its metal head to the ground, it'll take me a lot longer to find him a replacement.

Pros
  • Hammers with claws
Cons
  • Only available in white
